Stories is where we slow things down.
This space is for our longer-form feature stories. The pieces that sit beyond our daily blog and take a step back to reflect on why we’re doing this, not just what we did today.
Here we write about our family gap year, travelling the world with kids, homeschooling on the road, and the decisions that led us to pack up our life and leave home for a year. These stories go deeper into the lessons, challenges, and shifts that happen when you choose a slower, more intentional way of living as a family.
If the daily blog captures the rhythm of each day, Stories captures the bigger picture.
You’ll find posts about:
Why we chose to take a family gap year
What long-term travel with kids is really like
Homeschooling and worldschooling while travelling
Living abroad as a family, beyond the highlights
The mindset shifts that come from slowing down and living differently
These are the posts we expect people to come back to months or years from now. The ones that aren’t tied to a date or location, but to an idea or a feeling.
If you’re curious about family travel, taking a gap year with kids, or simply rethinking how you spend your time together, you’re in the right place.
Week Three: The Highs, the Lows & Everything In Between
By week three, the novelty had softened. We were not waking up asking what to do anymore. We were waking up and just doing life. Moving accommodation, settling into routine, managing work, heat, movement and connection, this was the week travel stopped feeling like an adventure and started feeling sustainable.
Week Two: The Highs, the Lows & Everything In Between
Week two of our full-time family travel journey wasn’t about big adventures. It was about rhythm, routine and the quiet shift from travelling to truly living. Slower mornings, calmer kids and the moment we realised we actually belong here.
Week One: The Highs, the Lows & Everything In Between
Seven days. One chaotic airport arrival, floating market breakfasts, scooter rides through Ho Chi Minh City, an accidental farm spray incident and the beginning of a new family rhythm. Our first week travelling full-time in Vietnam stretched us, surprised us and reminded us why we chose to run wild together.
