What We Packed

When we left home for a year of travel, we researched… and then panic packed. Realistically, we should have followed the below and considered what four people could comfortably carry while moving between countries and seasons.

Everything should have met the following criteria:

Lightweight
Multi-purpose
Worth the space in our bags

This list shows what we started the trip with. Some items will change as we travel, and we’ll create an updated list as we learn what works and what doesn’t.

The Packing Method

Kia was adamant that packing cubes and vacuum bags for winter gear were the best move for us. I personally like the roll method. We employed both methods throughout our bags and will see how each method fairs in time. Stay tuned.
